Conservation Efforts at Jurong Lake Park

The authorities have a special place in the Jurong Lake park that does not allow anybody to trespass, harm or destroy the environment/habitat there as they want the area there to be as pollutant-free as possible. These activities are useful but more can be done!

Efforts of putting up signs to keep people away from littering have been also done by the authorities. The reason the authorities are doing all these is because they do not want people to litter in the park as the animals and organisms living in the park may be affected .These activities to safeguard the environment are not enough.

The park is normally used for exercising, picnics, tourist attractions, etc. so definitely people will bring food and drinks to the park. These park users are lazy because thay do not want to walk a distance to throw their litters and just dump them on the floor

. There are three ways of solving these, First we can conduct a short survey and find out the hotspots of littering and picnics. Then we can place litter signboards and rubbish bins there. We can also add a sound system inside the rubbish bins when people throw in rubbish they hear some intresting sounds which will tempt them to throw more rubbish and hear more sounds. Another idea is that there could be campaigns for students and volunteers to do some free cleaning of jurong lake park and students can earn CIP points!! This will also help for the aid of cleaners.
LETS KEEP ALL OUR PARKS CLEAN AND LETS SAVE MOTHER EARTH !!!!!!!!!
